that's pretty radical thinking.

Wont do much if he is not selected again though.
It should be first grade Club games and the penalties should be for longer periods.
I would not mind if Luke got 6 months, he is a Grub and a blight on the game.

Says on Sky he can serve his ban in pre season in Oz so a complete waste of time.
Apart from the fact he didn't actually suceed I don't see any difference between what he did and hitting someone full in the face with an elbow (a la Boyd or Morley) should be a lengthy ban imho.

I haven’t been through the whole thread but the actions of this guy in both the Aussie game and the tackle on Chase were disgusting. There have been plenty of players who are dirty but not many who set out to injure players in such a calculated and cowardly fashion

He’s a disgrace to our game, simple as that

I'm pretty sure Morley was the victim of an elbow smash to the face (from Cassidy) rather than a perpetrator, but totally agree with your argument. The severity of the punishment shouldn't be based on the outcome; Luke clearly tried to put Chase out of the game (at least) and the ineffective punishment he's received is a joke.

I wonder if any further action will be taken on account of the fact he has returned to NZ and admitted to deliberately "trying to break his leg" as Chase has chosen to play for England. A premeditated attempt to cause a serious injury to another player.
"I just saw red. A lot of the legends who played in the black and white jersey, they wanted blood. I know Rubes wanted blood. I guess that's the mentality us young ones have taken on board. We had a talk the night before about what the jersey meant and that must have come out. When you come up against your family you want to outplay them. I didn't outplay him. I tried to break his leg."

Absolutely disgusting comments and I hope he is looking at a VERY long ban. Won't hold my breath though.

His comments seem to be spreading across the general press rather than staying with RL. First ever RL story I have seen featured when signing into my Yahoo e-mails:

Wouldn't be surprised to see this in the nationals tomorrow morning now.

The thought either real or imagined that a fellow countryman is in some way showing disrespect to your country is a powerful one and sadly in some cases some people get carried away on a wave of emotion.

It was a disgusting act though
