This is true, but there was actually more to it than a Yeaman/Welham battle. Shenton's injury in the Grand Final handed Yeaman a call up (in my opinion of course).

When 1 of Shenton, Atkins or Bridge are actually fit in October & November, Yeaman will be a shoe in for an extended off season.

Are internationals here or in Australia next year? If overseas, Yeaman will have declared himself unavailable anyway by then. Doesn't like to venture far, our Kirk.

Marfa Manu wrote:The facts are simple...The squad was chosen from last season's performances, as pointed out previously Welham clearly was not a more potent attacking player than Yeaman, he scored 1 more try, but his defense was a lot worse than Yeaman......Believe me it is not just McNamara who has this opinion, the facts & stats simply do not lie!!!
You come out with statements and fail to back them with anything resembling a solid fact...There are a number of players who should be in the team if we check their stats out for the last god knows how many years  .....I am bored of proving you wrong time & time again, I need a better challenge :SLEEPY:

Prove me wrong time and time again??
Feel free to list these fantasies
Are you ignorant, deluded or just plain stupid.
I have not once disputed that Yeaman is stronger in defence.
You cannot accept Welham is better in attack and because Yeaman had a decent try tally last season it doesn't put him on a par.
If Bobby Zamora scores more goals than Torres this season that doesn't make him the better attacker overall
Yeaman would not have saved some of the tries Welham did this season, they are different types of players.
Welham is faster, more athetic and more skilful then Yeaman
I could also throw in another fact in the the Champions Leeds made enquiries to sign Welham, not Yeaman.
You much more amusing across on your own forum pretending to be in the know about signing Rangi Chase then on here pretending to be some female Waynetta Bennett.

Correct. But that makes it even more disappointing for the heir apparent (Welham) to have been overlooked as the 6th best English centre (after Reed, Atkins, Shenton, Bridge and Senior (retired  )) in favour of a pedestrian halfwit like Yeaman. Bad times for East Hull's finest. Hearing he's also only your 6th favourite ginger after gingerspice, Little Robin Redhead, Chris Evans, Janet Devlin and Peter Elliott. Needs to raise his game. And stop modelling womens clothing. I'm sure he will.

How very convenient!

I thought it was Kingy who did the "BA Baracus" impression when it came to air travel?

He is certainly getting big wraps but after proclaiming Tommy Lee as a superstar at the same age hopefully he doesn't go the same way, although Lee now has a good chance to finally fulfill his potential at Hudds

Oh, I'm firmly in the "he's a long way off" camp, and you can add James Webster to your list (he was temporarily suspended, but a change in employers has seen him re-enter at the expense of Sonia).

Mrs Barista wrote:Hmm..you do need to factor in the fact Hull have had no halfbacks to speak of since Cooke left. How did Yeaman go in the last season we had a decent halfback combo? Yes, that's right, he was handing them off like a ramrod in the Dream Team. Currently Yeaman is better than Welham defensively, that's why he's in the international
team. End of story.

BTW I thought Gil Dudson had a cracking first half tonight (got bored in the second, mind). You were correct, he would have been a good signing for Rovers.

So Welham's try tally with no Dobson who controlled the left edge attack for a chunk of the season was more impressive on that basis.
Dudson impressed me last season, barnstorming run at CP to set up a try.
Would of been a more than useful addition and Rovers did offer him a contract but once Wigan came in that was that.

You talk utter tripe, your knowledge is pants which has been proven several times by several people, also by me when you lost that bet to me by declaring Crusaders stood no chance of making the 8 and would finish bottom! (that was not a fantasie it was real!)..You are like Zod you come out with grand statements yet fail to back these statements with evidence, you are unable to have a constructive discussion about any player who plays for FC because of you ingrained hatred of every-thing black and white (your infamous post as paintboy on your secret proved this point)
On the Rangi Chase signing i claimed to know nothing apart from what fans who spoke to him were told, so you are wrong yet again
I will discuss Yeamo & Welham with any-one who wishes to without wearing their tinted glasses because believe me I know more about both players than most on here including you
