"Promotion and relegation will continue between the two Championship divisions from 2013."
They definitely need more teams in the Championship Leagues, hopefully we will get into the Championship.

So if we don’t get promotion next year we might as well shut up shop and die, as we will be stuck in a league of glorified amateurs with zero away support watching a lower standard of rugby than we already are. Also thanks a bunch for blowing the cost of away travel through the roof for the fans.If this was happening in SL this forum would be in meltdown by now, but it’s only CC! so it doesn’t matter. I believe this is a long term plan by the RFL to get rid of what they perceive to be the scrag end clubs in CC1. They will run it for two or three years and then announce that it doesn’t work and everyone left in this division will revert to the amateur game including the current CC1 semi pro clubs!

Can you think of another way the RL could have brought new clubs into the structure, having 20 clubs only isnt the way forward.
Are they not missing a trick in not allowing the likes of Bramley, Warrington Wizzards, Underbank and Kippak to step up (if indeed those clubs want to) to keep the "heartland" teams to a decent percentage and perhaps get to the stage where the Conference is the feeder into Championship 1 and teams get there through promotion rather than be parachuted in.

And if we do get promotion next year--will we as fans and the club care about the ones left behind,----sadly i suspect the majority will not.

Yes i would. I do not want to see any of the current CC1 clubs left to rot in such a league. Can you imagine the distances that will be travelled by the likes of Workington?

And neither do i----but should the likes of Hemel, Bristol, Coventry, Northampton, Chester and such not be given a chance.
We can hardly argue against the Super-League becoming a closed shop and then say we want the Championship to adopt the very same thing.

Agree 100% Bruce , with regard Bramley they are strugling this year , rumour has it Warrington Wizzards will relocate to Chester.
What I object to is a team who come 6th could get promotion cos they win the Grand Final. Make it the top 4 & have the play offs for a Trophy & Financial reward as Super League & the Championship.
