I'm a Wigan fan, and I see things that happen in matches that make me think less of other teams sometimes. I dont come on here and start whining and calling coaches etc.
In my opinion Bailey can be a dirty player (classic Bailey lol). He can be over aggressive but that's his style of play. Graham can get irate for little reason and spit his dummy out, but I understand that he is probably just a bit passionate (lol). There are a few players I can name from different side that flap arms and call the ref etc.
Likewise I can see the same in some Wigan players. Coley sometimes used to get a bit dirty when on the back foot. Tomkins was milking penalties every now and then.
The list goes on, every club has players that bend or break rules. But I dont come on here and start going on and on and on about them. What is with the whole third man in a tackle subject? Every single club does it, every player will do it, every coach teaches some form of it, yet every time I come on these forums there is a subject about Wigan doing it.
The latest is one aimed at Madge as he is leaving saying he brought dirty tactics over with him. I mean seriously the guy is a great coach but are you really suggesting he was the one Aussie who came over and started teaching these things? Not one has done it before in Super League with all the overseas coaches we have?
And whats with the sniping? I know Saints and Pies have always had a strong rivalry but I dont get bitter about stuff with them. Im glad they are doing well with English youngsters and personally I hope they win today, but how come Saints fans are the first to start blaming defeats to Wigan on random things, be it the ref or whatever?
Do some fans just find it hard to accept that you cant win everything all the time? Some Wigan fans have moaned because we arent in the Final, personally Im happy with the last two seasons, more than happy. I wouldnt mind if next year we had an average season if we bring through some young players, especially English ones.
Seriously people, lighten up. Its a game we all love to watch and wouldnt want one team dominating everything. Sometimes I come on these forums and wonder how many bitter old twisted people make up the community lol.
Good luck to Saints, I hope its a good match, then onto the four nations.
There's been a slightly bigger-than-usual mass hysteria against Wigan this year - i.e. where people repeat what others say over and over again until they start to think its true, in the face of all common sense. Such as 'Maguire tells his players to commit career-ending tackles' ( useless coach obviously, didn't manage to end a career in two years of trying), or 'Tomkins is a dirty cheat and the only player to ever milk a penalty', and finally culminating in the absolutely ridiculous 'Wigan didn't clap at the MoS awards' - as if even the most bitter-and-twisted person in the world would be daft enough to do that in the public eye.
Once the nonsense gets up a sufficient head of steam it just carries on because people with easily-led minds start only to see what they're told they're supposed to see by strange (being kind there) individuals like Kear, Schofield, etc.
