Westerman is not good enough, simple as that. I would rather play Burgess or Westwood there than Westerman. My next choice would be Sinfield to organise and do a stint at 9 to help Roby out and also give us his kicking game.

He can be forgiven for that but when you throw in the fact that he has to be one of the most blatant and consistent nigglers in the game I've always been puzzled as to his seemingly automatic international selection. Kevin Sinfield is an infinitely more talented loose forward, even before we discuss some of the younger options raised by others.
Lets just leave it there then.
Dropkick Murphy..we actually saw and heard a mass of bouncing and scarf and flag waving to Dale Cavese that drowned out anything we could muster.. It stopped us singing our own celebratory songs, it died out seconds later when we accepted we couldn't be heard over the Wigan lot Celebrations muted from us, job done from them. Most fans who slag them off are jealous their own club's support is nowhere near that good - sally cinnamon..Why not discuss Wigan? It's a rugby league message board. Wigan are the most famous brand in rugby league - Tre Cool..Saints fans are hopeless unless it's a cup final or grand final. Wigan fans are so much more loyal and passionate - the flying biscuit..Wires havent been massively succesful over the years, but I've spoke to Brian Bevan And he spoke to me and i wouldnt swap that for Wigans History, ever - Ande..on the TV i could only hear the Wigan fans with about 10 to go - Saint94..Every team is in your feckin shadow, we all know - FIOS

Burgess is out, I believe. Unless you're being hypothetical then ignore me...

Big loss for England. As good and as important Sinfield is for Leeds, he just doesn't have the physical presence at International level. Would like to see Westerman given a go to realise his potential as a 13 but options are limited in this position. Danny Tickle as a wildcard?

Agree with the point about Sinfield, he has struggled physically in the past in international games – particularly in defence
If we have two good halves and Tomkins and Roby, I think we have enough attacking talent to forsake a creative loose forward and go with a full running pack with Westwood or Heighington at 13

You really are an odd fellow with an unhealthy obsession with anything anti-wigan.
Anyway. Club before Country = Family before County? Who pays the wages week by week? I agree that playing for your country is an huge honor, but if you are injured and have soldiered on for the good of your club then what's the problem with getting treatment v's playing injured for your country and most probably letting them down.
Or
All players should save themselves for internationals at the expense of the club game?

I think it is looking more like this. Would make our pack a bit lightweight to have Sinfield at 13. Sinfield should be considered as a stand off now i think. It would be a lot to ask him to do 30+ tackles, organise and possibly kick goals.

Heighington plays loose forward for Wests. I hope we don't put Sinfield at 13 - GB/England have tried 'ball handling' loose forwards for years and it simply doesn't work. we have halfbacks and the hooker to set up the plays. Funnily enough NZ and Australia don't need an extra playmaker, and instead prefer somebody who can provide a link if required, but also graft.
Sinfield has played to help out our poor halfs, hopefully with Brough, Widdop, Chase, Maguire, Myler and Sinfield to chose from we won't need a ball handling 13.
