Brough can change a game on his own, Myler cant and I dont think Lomax can

As for Widdop being a specialist fullback, I remember another specialist fullback that moved up to stand off...just about to retire from the game...Darren Lockyer

I suspect Lockyer's success had something to do with him being the world's best fullback and one of the finest players in the world BEFORE he moved up to six. Widdop, on the other hand, isn't.

So you want to carry on with the below-par kicking game against the Aussies then and have no direction coming from the scrum half?

Brough for me (or Cherry-Evans  )

Considering we played Kevin Sinfield out of position at 7 in 2001 and Ryan Sheridan at 7 in 1999, I would suggest that choosing between players like Myler, Brough and Lomax is a hell of a lot better than it has been

Lomax first choice, Brough is a great all round talent and a better defender than Myler but he's not at full fitness. I like Myler but he needs to toughen up and bulk up fast or he'll go the way of Penny.

But by the time the first international rolls round, he'll be at full fitness, so its not a problem

I don't have a problem including Lomax in the England team. He is undoubtedly one of the most talented players in SL so it would be silly to overlook him. The position he plays is another issue. He does not have the all-round game of a traditional scrum half (most notably in the kicking department). But this should not automatically bar him from the position provided alternative arrangements can be made.

We are quite fortunate as he seems able to cover just about every position in the back line so he should at least make the bench. I also think he could provide a devastating option as an interchange hooker. His nimble-footedness is a nightmare for any tiring prop and injecting him into the game around the thirty minute mark could prove highly profitable.

The answer to the OP's question should be Myler surely, since Danny McBrough is a Scottish player?

Whilst I would love to see the International set-up refreshed with the likes of Brough and Lomax, how can Sinfield and Burrow be ruled out all together? Both Imo have to be involved in some way or another. Lets see which player performs on the big stage on Sat.
