If Sinfield is at 13, we don't need a kicker, so we should go for Lomax. If O'Loughlin is at loose, then we could use some more creativity and a better kicking game, so maybe Broughy should get a chance. I personally would go for:

6. Widdop
7. Brough
9. Roby
13. O'Loughlin

Then I'd Robinson as the interchange hooker/half back.

End of thread.

Forgot about Widdop. What's his kicking game like?

Not sure that Brough has been that good in the second half of the season since coming back from injury, I would have always opted for Lomax at 7.

As for Widdop at 6, not for me, needs more time to learn the role.

Widdop has played 6 for a season at Melbourne and needs more time to learn the role, Lomax has played at 7 for one season at Saints but you'd opt for him? Widdop and Brough in the halves for me.

I didn’t realise that playing in the G.F was a stipulation to play for England.

Give Brough a go, McGuire’s had enough chances & Lomax is too inexperienced.

Brough has got a bit of the mongrel in him, a great kicking game & if needed a decent goal kicker.

Lets think Melbourne Storms first choice number 6 or Brough/Myler

It's a no brainer

Widdop was a specialist fullback wasn't he up untill this season? If you have watched the Storm this season you will tend to see Slater playing more of the role of a 6 than Widdop has done IMO. Widdop doesnt look a natural 6 at this time but has plenty of improvement in him.

Lomax is an out and out half back(maybe some Saints fan could put me straight)although he did do pretty well when played in the centres and wing but he is now showing what he is capable of playing in his natural position, unlike Widdop.

If the team was to be chosen on current form, it would have to be Lomax at 7.

Neither - Lomax has to partner Widdop

Your job is to say to yourself on a job interview does the hiring manager likes me or not. If you aren't a particular manager's cup of tea, you haven't failed -- you've dodged a bullet.
