Matt's a top player, of that there is no doubt, but I don't believe he's as important as being made out. He's excellent in defence and he helps the forwards in terms of making the hard yards in our own half, but, IMO, those attributes can be replaced. If he was a game-breaking creative player, I'd be massively worried (i.e. if we lost Gleeson when he and Briers were basically our only option in attack), but I don't think we're that dependent on Matt. We have Atkins, Bridge, Monaghan, Blythe and Evans to play centre. Obviously King will be missed, but there isn't a huge drop between him and his replacements, whilst our other signings, IMO at least, make us stronger overall.

I sort of agree with you, but his defensive skills cannot be underestimated. His defence on the wing is unbelievably good. meaning that teams really struggle to score in that area. Regardless of who replaces him, they simply won't be as effective defensively. They may be quicker, make more breaks etc, but if I were the opposition I know who I'd rather play against.

Hard to believe this could be their last game (hopefully not, obviously).
For me, Matt King will be the biggest big loss to us. He contributes so much in general play - some of which goes largely unnoticed. Plus he is such a threat outwide on the ground and in the air. He's scored bags of tries for us in his four year spell too. The consolation for us is that we have Bridge, Atkins, Joel, Evans and Blythe etc.
Louis has occasionally frustrated a few fans in his time for reason's I can understand but there is no denying that when this bloke is on form, it's infectious on the rest of the team. He puts in some big shots and has been a valuable player in his time here. However, an injury free Trent Waterhouse is something I am really looking forward to seeing play in the p&b next season.
And for Clarke, well, my views on him are no secret but he leaves with my best wishes.
