Why are you lot so obsessed with Phil Clarke?

Every time I visit this board I can guarantee there is at least one thread about him.

He is from Wigan, He played for Wigan, His dad played for Wigan, He won trophys with Wigan, He grew up supporting Wigan.

WOW. Hes biased towards Wigan. Shocking. I just dont see why you cant get over it?

I mean once someones said 'wow, Phil Clarke is biased towards Wigan' you'd think there wouldnt be much more else to be said about it?

It's because of his magnetic charisma, he has the same quality as guys like Bono and Barack Obama, even people that don't like him can't help but be drawn in by his masculinity and charm.

Senior is perfectly within his right to say what he feels is the truth only Mcguire knows if he is trying to cheat although at the time I thought that he was injured and the pull on Carmont I think it was a reflex action as he falling you see him struggling and looks in pain and RL is a sport in which you don't fake injuries many players play through the pain barrier he was at full pelt and goes to make the tackle and does his ligaments which hurts to say he deserved a potentially career ending injury is OUT OF ORDER!!

Clarke should be embaressed about what he said but he seems to have no shame

Didn't William Webb Ellis pick up the ball and run, someone should really tell Rugby Union.

Anyway, let Phil Clarke get on with being Phil Clarke. I'm starting to not even notice he is there as whenever I supposedly see or hear him, I can just block him out in a cachophony of crowd noise.

It's because there's no one else on TV quite Like him...(well Stuart Barnes rivals him in the horrible turd stakes)..

Can you imagine the same scenario on the gillette soccer saturday ?
with Phil Thompson, Charlie Nicholas, and Gordon McQueen all spouting biased Drivel...and they are specifically given matches of their former clubs to commentate on to show their allegiance when a goal is scored, but they still manage to give a balanced view on the opposition.

If Clarke did a superleague version it would go like

Jeff Stelling - "so Phil ......Wigan versus Leeds, into the last five minutes hows it going ?"

Phil Clarke - "ohhhh Jeff its all Wigan, as it has been all Game, Sam Tomkins has just come close, he's been a thorn in the Leeds side all afternoon, they'll be glad to see the back of him today. Brett Finch has been spraying majestic passes from one side of the pitch to the other Causing the leeds defence no end of trouble....and Josh Charnley has almost finished off a move that would have surely been try of the season had he not knocked on with the line in front of him.........................but still no sign of a wigan try and its still Leeds riding their luck and leading 54 Nil"

Jeff Stelling - "you nob"

 that is comedy genius,i've just spat all my lager over my pc
what makes it even funnier is that i can actually imagine clarke in this exact scenario,i used to respect him prior to his sky involvement.
i would love to ask him what he did that was so wrong that it made the rugby gods so mad that they decided that it should end his career

it must have been a far worse offense than danny mcguires must it not as danny has played since

Brian McDermott paraphrased Peter Fox.
"He'd say if we had 13 Bernard Dwyers we wouldn't lose many RL games. It's the same for us with JJB"
