Aye try a Tarka or mixed Karai or the Asian Mix Curry! They're all very different.

Been to Nawaabs in Bradford and Leeds city centres in the last two weeks. The Bradford version was not near the quality of yesteryear and the whole place felt a bit run down and tatty, when before it had a plush feel about it. Personally, I'd be surprised to see it remain open much longer. The food was only ok, and I am a big fan of the place too. Buna on puri starter followed by a lamb haandi. Also to note that my companion for the meal had the trotts the following day or so after the meat thali that was much smaller than I previously remember.

The Leeds version was a little better, much busier obviously, and a slight improvement on the food front. Same starter followed by lamb nihari. Unsurprisingly, the Leeds dishes appeared dearer than the Bradford version, but might be wrong on that one.

Ha i went to school and go to uni with the owners son. I'll tell him to book his ideas up. I'll ask him if he can do a red amber and black deal for us lads!

The lovely Punjab gets 5 stars!

Time for another visit soon. Anyone fancy a few pints in the FC?

Went to the Nawaab a couple of months ago and it was Ok, no real complaints, but its a long way from where it was 7/8 years ago as one of the top asian restaurants in Bradford.
I suppose any restaurant is only as good as its chef at the time. Maybe that's why small familly owned ones are better prepared to give long term cooking quality.

Cardamon in Bingley was a visit worth making twice. Reasonable prices, really tasty food. The Lamb Balti and the Hashnagi
Flavour were top notch. It's a restaurant that's at the top of its game
Not so sure about their idea of the fusion food we tasted. In the dish "Soriosha Sea Bass" it is covered with a Rogan Josh
sauce whch overpowers it.
The dish "Bingley Locks" has rhubarb in the mix with eastern spices. Try it and make your own mind up.
Otherwise spiffing restaurant in all respects

I'm still waiting for MyPaprika to open in Clayton Heights. Should have opened by now. Hopefully will be worth the wait to have a good curry house in walking distance.

Bradford Nawaab was sold 18 months ago. They are allowed to sell the same dishes for 2 years then they must change the menus. The wife and I went a couple of months ago and they didn't have any sparkling wine or champagne (They advertised 4 different ones on wine list). Gone badly downhill.
We went to the Tong one and told them how crap their Bradford restaurant was, thats when they told us about the sale.
Tong or Hudds are still very good tho.
