Was a good day of Golf. Europe deservedly lead but should really be 2/3pts clear by now. Creamer is one hell of a competitor, reminds me of Golf's version of Maria Sharapova, just never know when she's beaten.
Think we could do with going into the singles at least 2pts clear.
Bit disappointed with our choices for the Morning Foursomes. Suzann Petterson is by far our best player and frankly she looked it today.
Caroline Hedwall & Sophie Gustafson vs Angela Stanford & Stacy Lewis. (Hedwall & Gustafson played brilliantly together in the fourballs to win 5&4, whilst Stanford and Lewis were supposedly one of the stronger US pairings but lost 3&2 to Matthew and Munoz. Optimistic for a European Point here.)
Karen Stupples & Christel Boeljon vs Ryann O'Toole & Morgan Pressel. (Stupples played a good 14 holes of foursomes yesterdya, but then folded appallingly to lose the match. Boeljon's 1st match of the Cup so far. O'Toole and Pressel both played very well in the fourballs, with O'Toole particularly impressive, despite being paired with Rikishi Kim
Would favour the Americans here but Boeljon is a talented player.
Maria Hjorth & Anna Nordqvist vs Brittany Lang & Juli Inkster. (Hjorth & Nordqvist played pretty well and had chances to beat Wie & Kerr in the foursomes before losing, with Nordqvist teaming up with Petterson in the fourballs to gain revenge against the same pair. Lang & Inkster played the foursomes and were only denied a great fightback by a stunning Petterson putt. Should be a great match. Hopeful for a Europe point.
Catriona Matthew & Azahara Munoz vs Cristie Kerr & Paula Creamer. (Matthew & Munoz played day 1's foursomes and played superbly to beat Lewis & Stanford. Matthew then teamed up with Sandra Gal to gain a half in the fourballs. Kerr as mentioned won with Wie in the foursomes before losing to Petterson and Nordqvist in the fourballs, whilst Paula Creamer was simply fantastic yesterday. A mix of good golf and that fierce competitiveness she has. Should be a close match. Munoz and Matthew played superbly yesterday morning and if they can repeat will fancy their chances.
Ole Ole Ole!
