Well done the Eagles.
Territorial kicking and stout tackling formed the basis of a remarkable win at Leigh.
They made history.

Well done to the Eagles, an excellent performance!

At the dawn of Super League we all rejected out of hand the idea of mergers.
What if the RFL in three years offered a Super League franchise on condition it was a merged Doncaster/Sheffield club playing an equal amount of games in each location. Would you accept this or still go it alone? I'm talking of a proper merger though, not a Hetherington type take over.
Just a thought.

No ... never!
Two clubs are better than one.
And travelling 'away' for three quarters of games is against the whole idea of having a low Carbon footprint.

In fact the sooner we have a Lancs/Cumbria/Wales division and a Yorkshire/Gateshead/London division the better for the planet.
And if we can slowly drop Gateshead London and Wales, that will be even better.
Oh, and any more French teams too!! 8)

Actually having said all that, how many away supporters are there in the lower divisions?
Next to none.

I'll take it that that's a no then?
Personally i'd rather carry on as we are, but i just wondered if attitudes had changed over the years since this was first mooted.

As i said i am happy to carry on as we are, i just wondered if 16 years down the line do people still feel as strongly, as in this time due to one reason and another both clubs have lost a lot of support. So you can put the gun away i am not going mad.

It would appear from the two or three answers that boths sets of fans are keen to keep their independance, and rightly so in my opinion. I just wondered if feelings were still as strong as they were years ago.
It would be nice to see both teams in the CC doing well.
