Swinton as famous and historic a club in Britain as Souths are in Oz? Eh?
To compare their fame is laughable - has anyone outside RL circles even heard of Swinton?
As for history, well Swinton are an old club (not founder members of the RL though) and they have won titles but even on the history they can't compare with Souths pre 1970 and they certainly can't in the last 40 years, where although Souths haven't been successful they have been a top flight side for almost all that period unlike Swinton.
They're biting early, today
I only threw in a bit of groundbait, and I managed to reel a cherry'n'white troll, using only a worm and a 5lb line. Should I tell Angling Times?
Swinton was an analogy brought up by biscuit, and they do have some comparisons with Souths.
ATEOTD, you're just bigging-up a club you have no leanings to, save for your current coach going there, next year.
There's a famous line, spoken by Harold Shand (Bob Hoskins), in one of the best films of all time (imo) The Long Good Friday, which can equate to Souths being 'sleeping giants'
"Ive heard of a sleeping partner (giant), but you lot are in a f@@@ing coma"
Getting a previously third tier coach, and a Hollywood actor as an owner, does not make you a 'major player' in the NRL
