Quote:Ralph Rimmer, the RFL’s Chief Operating Officer, said: “That we have received two applications offers solid proof of the appetite that exists for professional Rugby League in North Wales and the desire the people of Wrexham have to build on the progress made by Crusaders during their three years in Engage Super League.

Bollox ... it's a dual application from a failed club.
Can we go into the Championship now we have failed, if not can we go into Championship 1?
Pretty please?
Expansionism has failed, Crusaders and Toulouse have failed.

War does not determine who is right - only who is left.

Thank God I'm an atheist.

That about sums up the situation S-O, but we have been given more than 1 chance & we are not based in a RL heartland area .

Are you saying that we are an expansion club?

The RFL do often refer to South Yorkshire as an expansion area, compared to most of the other clubs Doncaster and Sheffield are the youngsters of the game

It's a shame we don't get the special treatment that the rest of the expansion teams get if that is the case.

As weighman suggests, we have had a fair few chances where things have cocked up and the RFL have allowed us to continue.

The year we went bust under John Wright, without the intervention of the RFL the club would have ceased to exist. The company that held the license for Rugby League in Doncaster was about to go into liquidation and they stripped it of it's license and awarded it to Craig Harrison's company; they didn't have to do that, and at the time some argued it wasn't really fair that they did.

Similarly, they deducted points of us the year we were relegated rather than the first year of the new club, again this is not normal and did us a huge favour.

There are other instances that I am not sure are in the best interest of the current or previous regimes to openly promote, but while it is easy to say the RFL never help us, it is fair from true

Fair enough then. Some of these facts i was not aware of, it's just when you view how for example the Sean Leaf saga was handled it does make you wonder.
