Sam Tomkins' two-fingered salute to the Leeds fans after Josh Charnley's try in Saturday's Cup Final has attracted the wrath of the RFL disciplinary committee - to the tune of £1,000.
But he won't have to actually pay it if he behaves himself for the next 13 months or so: the fine is suspended until the end of the 2012 season.
The RFL website announced this afternoon that "Tomkins was deemed to be in breach of Operational Rule D1.8(c) (Improper Conduct) and the RFL’s Respect Policy".
The Wigan player was also reprimanded and warned over his future behaviour. He has 14 days to appeal.
Tomkins apologised for the gesture yesterday, after the club took disciplinary action.
