He can't even afford a decent Rovers Side, let alone the Keepmoat.
And if Donny Council sell it to him at some special knock-down price, they should be hung. It's ours we paid for it. It cost us £30,000,000.
And furthermore, if they sell it and don't have special provisions in place for it's use by all, then they should be dug up and hung again.

I'll believe it when I see it.
And IF it happens, we will have to wait and see how it affects the Dons et al.
How could we possible know beforehand?.

I was lead to believe that if any of the monies used to build the stadium came from any form of funding ie lottery, sports aid etc then nobody can own it outright.

We have the same problem here in Hull with the Allams (owners of Hull City) trying to pressure the council into selling them the KC stadium. The KC was built with money raised from the sale of around 50% of the shares in Kingston Communications, a company that is/was owned by the people of Hull. The stadium was built FOR the people of Hull and if the council is allowed to sell it then the people of Hull must be stupid to stand for it. It's a community stadium, end of, not some sugar daddy's new toy. The sale of the stadium would obviously impact on Hull FC somewhere down the line.

It reads as if the Rovers board would want to take on the Stadium itself and the car parking facilities . No mention of the running track and the other facilities that the general public have access to. May be that they want to aquire the Stadium to prevent damage of the playing surface that concerts bring. It would appear that there has been a breakdown of trust/communication between the Rovers and the SMC that now appears to be at an all time low. Not sure how the Don's would be effected, there has to my knowledge never been any undue critcism of RL having an adverse effect on the pitch. We always accomodate our fixtures to the summer maintainance of the playing surface, the announcement of the Keepmoat being a RL world cup venue would help IMO.

Football ruins a pitch far more than RL does. Wear and tear in the winter is easliy seen around the six yard line and the centre circle but RL is played on firmer grounds and the spread of the wear and tear is across the full width of the pitch and not as concentrated as it is with football.

I wouldn't worry too much. Donny Rovers are on thier way back to where they belong-in the fourth division of the football league and John Ryan and his cronies wont be interested when they are back down to crowds of 2000.
They've had their day in the sun and they wont have the clout with OUR COMMUNITY STADIUM when they are back where they belong.

John Ryan and his cronies are you for real. The bloke has done more for sport in this Town than you can shake a stick at. You are entiltled to your opinion and your post but for fecks sake this post take the biscuit. This is not Football versus Rugby (either code) this is the Doncaster sporting set up and that comment Sir, is IMO not well thought out.
