Both players are happy to stay on at the club for another 3 years, knowing the players that have agreed to come after 1st Sept. Full in the knowledge that a new coach of the highest pedigree was interested in the job.
The players leaving are the clan that caused some ill feeling with the players in the past.
Its very interesting see who the new captain will be too!
Peter Gentle was rejected by Hull KR as their new head coach due to his lack of ambition.

Galea would be the obvious candidate for captain, IMO.

Galea has turned the job down before. Justin told me that he planned to make Murrell the next captain. Guess that has gone out of the window now though. It wouldnt surprise me if one of the newcomers is given the captaincy by the new coach. New broom and all that.

I think if Newton is still with us he deserves a pop at it as he is not forward in coming backwards otherwise I would probably go for er I'm still thinking nope can't think of anyone, we need some one with a bit of umph not that the refs listen anyways.
I feel galea would be a good choice, well respected by all, newton can get a bit too hot headed and also the rumours of a return to aussie keep surfacing.!

Dont you mean he's not backward in coming forward?, or is it your way of saying he is a forward and never takes a backward step.

I've always found him to be sideways in coming diagonally myself.
Nice to hear Dobson and Green are happy, they've probably been smashing a Nando's.
If there is no struggle, there is no progress. Those who profess to favor freedom, and yet depreciate agitation, are men who want crops without plowing up the ground. They want rain without thunder and lightning. They want the ocean without the awful roar of its many waters. This struggle may be a moral one; or it may be a physical one; or it may be both moral and physical; but it must be a struggle.
