Great game, that. City were poor at best, but it's early doors and i'm sure they'll get better. Impressed with Young, i said he had some impressing to do (IMO) and today surely helped. Smalling looked impressive again, albeit at at RB, and Jones looked fairly solid for 45 minutes. Error from De Gea gave that tree-stump Dzeko the opportunity to look good but that was all Dzeko did all game, and bottled his chance to win it just before the Utd winner.
Schoolboy error from Kompany. Looked devastated at the end.
Me: I'm still reeling from the news that someone is considering watching the 1st and 3rd game on Saturday and NOT watching Warrington play. It's like being in Shea Stadium when the Beatles came to town and deciding to nip out for a fag.
knockersbumpMKII: Is it FOOK, you're good but you're not THAT good, jesus you wanky fans need to get over yourselves, Beatles at the Shea in '65 was a once in a lifetime opportunity for some (despite the following years performance), you can watch a very good team in primrose & yellow play every week if you really wanted to but comparing it to one of the very best music groups of all time in an iconic stadia such as the shea is overegging your importance, you're not even the best team in SL atm
It's what you get when there is no team spirit because none of them like each other and are jealous at the extra fifty grand the next player might earn than them.
Superb game though. Thoroughly enjoyed it.
I think it's a crucial phase for United now. For me the likes of Vidic, Ferdinand, Giggs etc aren't up to it anymore. They looked a lot more settled in the second half today, which is strange when the changes they made were to take two experienced centre halves off for kids. I like Jones, he's already good enough for the Premier League and doesn't need to be playing off the bench or as support to Rio. He's already better than him IMO. Cleverly brought a lot of energy in midfield that they were missing in the first half. They still need a central midfielder, I can't understand why they haven't got one, they are so many quality players around in that position at the moment.
As for City, got to laugh at them. Spending £400 trillion and still losing, it's embarassing. Their best player was one of their bargains, Joleon Lescott. The likes of Silva, Milner, Balotelli etc were appalling. Balotelli is an out and out fool. Why they put up with him I'll never know. He's more poisonous than Bellamy and Barton combined.

Good to see that your daftness isn't restriced to just RL.
Vidic not upto it anymore, are you mental. In fact, don't answer that - we've been here before. Lescott bargain, he cost 20+ million. United will be fine, Vidic will be the most dominant centre half in the Premiership this season, again. City will aso be fine, will challenge for all the domestic honours and will be a threat to all concerned.

I wasn't being serious about Lescott, surely you can see that.
Vidic and Ferdinand aren't what they used to be as a partnership and neither covered themselves in glory with their performances today did they? That duo will need to be successfully broken up this season I feel, through Rio dropping out rather than Vidic who is younger and his lack of mobility can be overcome by Jones or Smalling. Look at Dzeko's goal, given sight of the entire goal with no one closing him down. De Gea was from impressed with them today.
But as you'll no doubt attack me again I'll add, "But they're United and their 'problems' are very minor compared to other clubs because their squad is so utterly superb"? They'll obviously be right in the running across the board.
