It's ridiculous, 9 days over now. It's like going downstairs at 6am on Christmas day as a child only to find that you have no presents, just a note saying; "Sorry we didn't have any money this Christmas, we'll buy you some presents on the 14th in the sales".

Booked in to be induced on Tuesday, I'm trying to get my excitement back - I've spent two weeks mocking a friends partner who who appears in all their baby photos with a sulk face.

But u know prob by tue night ur going to hold the little bundle in ur arms unless she comes before then

That'll be fun. When I was induced after a bit I got the anaesthetist and Mr B in a sort of double headlock and said lots of things involving violent requests for medication. Get gas and air at 5cm and don't bother stopping between contractions as there's a time delay. It's for her, not you by the way. Unless she's going for the aromatherapy and whale music approach. In which case, good luck.

My wife was induced for the birth of our daughter, it felt a little bizarre arriving at Hull Womens and Childrens hospital with an appointment to have a baby.

We were booked into Jubilee but wife's waters broke, but no baby, so appointment was booked at Hospital for us. Anyway, we arrived at the hospital (as per appointment), they plugged her in to the "device" at 10am and at 3pm she arrived.

Even got a free can of Redbull in the birth pack!

This post is a little daunting and I'll gloss over it and think of you whilst having every bone in my hand broken.

We were supposed to be going to the Jubilee, It closed a week last Friday. I'm not sure that all matters now because once you are at a stage where you need to be induced, you're kinda void from there anyway.

I know what you mean about feeling a bit bizarre, Another of our friends have a family history of struggling with natural birth and had c-section at 36 weeks, they practically picked their babies birthday within a 3 day window based on availability.

My partners family have all had less then 3hour labours, I'm hoping we don't buck the trend. With that in mind, everyone in her family that have gone over their due date have given birth to boys and Ginge say's we're having a girl...Not looking good.

We were pretty gutted when we realised Jubilee was off the table for us, I say us, but my part was rather, err, limited. I must admit, though, Women's and Children's at HRI was absolutely superb.

A 3 hour labour would be goin' some for a first child (I made an assumption there). Your Kid's birthday is gonna be almost slap, bang in the middle of summer. He/she will never have to do school on a birthday. Result!

I am taking a shot in the dark dum dum and gonna say it's a girl 7lb 8oz and I was induced with both of mine as I had pre eclampsia my second birth was the worst I had two lots of the stuff to make ur contractions come on boy it was powerful stuff the only reason I had two lots was cos my organs started failing so needed to give birth pretty quickly and really didn't want a c section and hey 20 mins later there she was it's a quick and effective way now don't forget dum dum we all want a pic of her in her first robins outfit

Christ, everyone must be scaring dum-dum half to death.

For God's sake, dum-dum, go back and dig that receipe out and feed her it. Today.
