RLC Merit playoff fixture:-
Wigan Riversiders Eels (1st) vs Salford Central (4th) Blackpool Stanley (2nd) vs Bamber Bridge (3rd)
Grand Finals day will take place at Golborne Parkside ARLFC on SATURDAY 13th August 2011.
Merit KO at 12 Regional KO at 2pm Premier KO at 4pm.
I'd have gone with West Bank for the Premier but can't see past Accy & Leyland. Riversiders make the play-offs despite losing all 5 games they've played and having 5 games conceded to them (not their fault of course, they had squads for every game and wanted to fulfill every fixture) and due to West Bank, Mancs and East Lancs failing to finish the league, can they improve to challenge in the play-offs?
Reckon Cobras will take the Regional. On their day, certainly at home and with their first-choice players they seem to be too strong and should probably have been in the Premier.
Merit - Riversiders Eels or Blackpool for me, both have been strong on their day. I heard a local rumour this week that Salford Central had quit for the season? Could be wrong but that's the word on the street.

Its been a frustrating year in the Premier, and your right our first team are in a semi final without actually winning a game, we have been 'given' 10 points! Thats how much the Premier division has been a laugh!

This has just been confirmed by the league, the Eels have been awarded with a bye to the Grand Final.

From what I've seen Bamber Bridge are a stronger side than Blackpool Stanley.

I don't do rumours!!!! that is an outragious accusation!!!
they've folded all together I believe which I hope is not the case as they appeared to have attracted some people into having a go at the game. However, the better players they had early on in the summer were always going back to the likes of Eccles etc.

I spoke to Peter from Salford Central yesterday when we where told that the game was being conceded and that Salford had pulled out.
He seemed gutted that they have had this end to what has been a successful debut season. He simply put it down to lads not turning up at training, the last session they had 6 players turned up and the decision was made to pull out.
Its never nice seeing new clubs having to stop playing so soon, i hope they can re group and get back on the field next season.
