244-9 at lunch. Yorks need 40 to win. Lancs need one wicket.

Sporting Life seems to suggest they've got it, Yorks 260 all out, 24 short of what would of been an epic win.

At least we had a decent crack at it, like I posted earlier though I knew the game had gone with Hogg and Mahmood's 9th wicket stand yesterday.

Gutted they've done the double over us this season.

Not bad, close to within one of Durham who just cannot win at Somerset. So they'll end up less than 10 ahead with the impending draw in that one.

Another biggie next though, Warwickshire at Aigburth.

Looking worrying for Yorkshire though, unless the form picks up, they're only 15 ahead of Worcs having played two more matches.

Unless Rudolph finds form quickly we're in trouble.

Throwing the title away in the last game of last year has obviously had some effect mentally.

Leaving out Sayers and Lyth to accommodate a fat passenger without a fifty in any form of cricket this season at 3 hasn't helped either.

Time for Moxon to take his old pals act elsewhere.

Well that'll teach me to decide not to go to the last day of a match again. Superb win for us and it's good to see the team holding their nerve when needed.

Nottinghamshire at Southport this week, starting tomorrow. Utterly crucial that we get a good result out of this one. We could still regret not finishing Sussex off at Hove earlier in the year.

But perhaps not quite as much as Warks may regret preparing a "poor" pitch a few weeks back! It's shaping up to be a classic three-way finish.

Totally off topic, I'm watching a programme on BBC4 right now, and some bloke has just told Julia Bradbury (Phwooar!) that "tickling your first trout is a bit like touching your first woman - smooth, slippery, and rather exciting!"

That's true. If they fall just short they are going to be absolutely fuming about that one. And I thought our one point deduction for a slow over rate was bad!

Unbelievable day yet again watching Lancs yesterday. Same old story of the season so far. Although the Notts tail proved that it was just shocking batting from everyone else. The pitch looked perfectly fine at lunch and had hardly changed at tea - just a few extra marks on the landing areas at one end.

It was quite funny seeing the optimism and smiles at tea in the pavilion... Only for everyone to be moaning like f**k at the close!

258 to win, looks big compared to the three totals so far. However Lancs can go at one an over and get there, still two whole days left.
