Here are a couple of shots of the east stand showing the progression in the brickwork

Eagle eyed people will also notice the black drain pipes coming down from the roof

Image

Image

Here is a close up of a drain pipe. This is actually though from the North stand

Image

We can see in this shot the tarmac roadway that has been started to be laid behind the East stand

Image

here we see the tarmac road going past the North east corner. Notice the green turf of the pitch

Image

zooming in, on the pitch we can see its now a lake of green. I dont think it will be long before the mowers will be on it, keeping it trimmed.

Image

looking up at the commentary box and we can see glazing going in

Image

Brickwork is progressing on the North stand as well. Notice also the tarmac road

Image

Image

Were does this tarmac road go you may be wondering. Well it goes to the car park behind the North stand which has also now been tarmaced

Image

Here is the North stand from the North stand car park

Image

and here is the corner of the North and West Stand, showing also a hint of green

Image

Lets zoom in again for some more of the lush pitch

Image

Hanging from the West stand roof, i noticed some black triangular things. Zooming in i could see that they were the tannoy system that is being fitted.

Image

Finally two shots from the Tesco side

Image

Image

Disappointingly, just after i had taken these shots and pocketed my camera, the Red Arrows RAF display team, overflew the stadium.
It would have made a cracking photo. :(

Fabulous pics CM. It looks like the breeze block walls on the north and east stands will be the outer wall or part of it.What do you think.

Fantastic shots again CM. I've been hoping that you would post some soon as it seems like ages since we have had some great photos to look at! So a big thank you for that.

I heard the flypast. I wonder why they did it? It's not like the 'St Helens Festival' is anything to shout about this year. Really crap it was.

the outside course of breeze block are a decent quality, you can see on the picture they are darker and smoother than the inner course.

The new AMEX stadium at Brighton has used similar materials to the new Saints stadium, it also shares a few design points as well

Image

Utilises the same type breeze block as Saints, also appears to use the same corrugated style cladding.
Most of all though the main stand is windowed and tiled like a larger version of Saints new stadium. Just imagine the silver tiles being red and you can see that the stadium is like an larger and posher cousin of our new stadium.

The Red Arrows where on their way to Blackpool airport to use as a base for the Southport Airshow over the weekend. The flight techs (known as the circus) accompany the pilots in the jets when moving from show to show and one of the flight techs is a saints fan and probably asked the team to fly over the new stadium so he could check it out.

They should have panelled a big red V into the front of the stadium. That would of looked awesome.
