What does Hull FC's takeover mean for Rovers? The relationship between the two clubs has been slightly bitter to say the least - Cookiegate, price increase (by both clubs) gate and numerous rumours about animosity between the players.
Today, Hull FC have been taken over and Pearson spoke of 'synergy' between the 3 sporting clubs in his radio interview. What does this mean? Will the clubs have a healthy relationship of the pitch instead of constantly trying to undermine the other? Will the benchmark for seasons not be on finishing above the other team but actually winning things?

In a way I hope the relationship does improve as long as the rivalry doesn't disappear. I personally think synergies could be made certainly on a commercial front if things like ticketting and sponsorships were dealt with mutually. I just hope this doesn't give anyone any silly ideas about mergers. The rivalry can be a moneyspinner if marketted in the correct way.

Not wishing to derail your thread, but I'm more interested how this leaves the whole stadium debate on ownership.
(The better relations the two rugby clubs have the better it would be for RL in the area)

Blooming heck, didn't see that coming.
Very positive statement by Pearson, hope it goes well for them, and yes, it would undoubtedly be better if the two clubs had a better working relationship.
If there is no struggle, there is no progress. Those who profess to favor freedom, and yet depreciate agitation, are men who want crops without plowing up the ground. They want rain without thunder and lightning. They want the ocean without the awful roar of its many waters. This struggle may be a moral one; or it may be a physical one; or it may be both moral and physical; but it must be a struggle.

I reckon our intergrated chat thread has spurred them on

It would be removed within 5 minutes on the FC as non FC related (quite rightly)

It is quite interesting though.

I thought about binning it (and will if it turns bad). The talk of 'synergies' gives it an oblique relevance to Rovers, so if people want to discuss the implications for Rovers I don't mind that. Personally I don't think they'll be many or large, but if others do...
Discussing it from the more obvious FC specific issues, of course - use the FC board.

Fair enough, I couldn't give a toss myself, so long as we beat them when we meet (as I do with all opposition, of course)
