You have got yourself a cracking player, one of our most consistent players, but in superleague its the 3rd brush with authority in the last few seasons and you are almost compelled to act.
For me personally I believe it is about what players do on the pitch not off it,paul gallens record on and off the pitch makes ben look like a fairy but if you had the chance to sign him what would you do.????

Ian Bell has not only done "more" than Benny he has attacked innocent people and I'd not be so sure he has never kicked someone half to death either, the guy is capable of anything and I think the courts know that all too well.
Well, Belly hasn't posted racist comments on a social networking site.
Also, Belly is one of the worst characters you'll ever meet. But unless evidence of him repeatedly kicking someone who is prone on the floor he won't be classed as much of a coward by me.
And your attempts to dismiss Cockayne's behaviour as "In the past" is laughable.

So you would hold someones criminal reccord against them after 3 years of keeping their noses clean even though the courts deemed a suspended sentence appropriate for him?

Yes many other occupations you would get fired for posting racist comments on a social networking site but HKR decided that a fine and an awareness course was appropriate.

As for the most recent one, he's broken a no drinking rule that the club imposed. He didn't break any laws (that the police deemed fit to charge him with anyway). Ok so maybe the final straw for HKR as a club but hardly reason to not have a talented player playing the game.

We're coming to make some noise!

The police obviously didnt think the remarks made by Ben were racist otherwise he would have been arrested and put in front of the beak, and as for the assult on a man in the street!, as Nick has already commented, the incident was almost 4 years ago and he admitted it was wrong, Unfortunately people like you seem to thinks that counts for nothing.
As for your comment that he almost kicked a man half to death!, without meaning to sound like i condone such actions which i most certainly dont, you sound like a bit of a drama queen, i helped out on the city centre pub doors for a while in the Early eighties and saw far worse take place on numorous occasions nearly every weekend, so please by all means do critisise him for his thuggery but to say kicked a man half to death is over the top and dramatist imo, and yes i have seen the cctv evidence of the incident.
Anyway back to Ben the player, he will give you 100%+ on the field and will realy prove to be a hit with your fans i am sure, i would have loved to see him stay at Hull Kr but unfortuantely as previous Kr fans have already stated, he ran out of chances and the club had no other real alternative but to release him.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank Ben for his contributions on the field for the club over the last few years and would also like to wish him well in the future, for gods sake just try and keep your head down this time and concentrate on what you do best on the field.

Bad decision to sign ben Cockayne. Why do you need him, top of the league playing great Rugby. he will upset the team he will be on a higher salary than other players. I am afraid you can forgive someone once , think about forgiving someone twice, but after that it is all down hill. Once a scoundrel always a scoundrel.
