Part 2

Brick work for the West stand is very far advanced and shows what is needed to be done for the North and East stands

Her we can see the concourse with a doorway in the background. The brickwork looks at least 10 feet high as its significantly above the door frame.

Image

This pic shows that some of the brickwork, which I suspect is for the toilet blocks, goes all the way upto the back of the Terrace.
Just to the left of the digger you can also see an exit doorway

Image

The exec boxes with doors in them, taken from the North West corner. You can also see two doorways in the TV platform

Image

The East stand roof on a beautiful summers day

Image

The entrance to the east stand (as with all the other entrances), juts out from the main bulk of the stadium

Image

Moving onto the Tesco side we can see that the ramp for the bridge has now been tarmaced.
Flowers are also being planted in flower beds

Image

Image

The South west corner of the stadium is now fully clad with the inner insulation cladding. The black outer cladding can also be seen.
The dirt mound between Tescos and the Stadium also seems smaller

Image

The stadium and Tesco's from the linkroad entrance.

To be fair this is what i think is the case as the top of the glass is black as well.

Another possibility is it being clad entirely in black and red, a bit like this years away kit.
Who knows maybe that kit design was inspired by the stadium plans

We will no doubt find out the truth in the next couple of weeks as the posh outer cladding gets fitted.

I will say that we are seeing mounting evidence of a fit out thats of far higher quality than detailed in the plans on the council website.

I remember Mr Big or the CE (can't remember which) saying at a fans forum type meeting a couple of years back that Saints were opting for a high spec stadium rather than a big stadium. I'm glad they made that decision. 18,000 is plenty big enough. There will only rarely be sell outs. But if the stadium experience is a quality one then that should ensure the stadium is utilised by non-rugby events, bringing in more money to the club and creating a more sustainable future, which I'm all for. Plus, it will be a whole lot nicer going into a quality stadium on match days! I just hope they cover up the breeze blocks rather than doing a Warrington or Widnes and leaving them exposed. That looks cheap and nasty IMO.

agreed , i'd much rather have a 18k capacity quality stadium than a 20k capacity flatpack one

We'll let you know just as soon as we have a scoreboard. As yet, all that is there are some steel columns and a roof. There isn't even a back wall to that part yet!
