He looked to offload - but so did everyone else. He didn't break the line too oft and doesn't dominate like I hoped he would.
At Barra he went down like Monica Lewinski everytime he was tackled and never looked like creating a break or decent offload. - That said, he again stood up well in defence which given Morro and Haley's absence is our main priority.
He's OK. And that's what I have concluded. Just OK! Coming from SL I kind of expected him to be able to step up and deliver what Morro and Haley offer the side. In my opinion, he doesn't do that!
Perhaps you're right Sidnee. An extended stay under DP may well improve his game.
Yes but he doesn't come from SL just a SL club. By that I mean he isn't a SL player, he simply hasn't had the game time for that to really apply. He is a very good Academy prospect who is on the fringes of first team. This means in my opinion he is something between an Academy player and a Championship player. So if you were expecting a SL player you were misled in the extreme. What I do believe is he is probably more advanced than anything you have in your own Academy so that's a bonus.
The biggest problem Ben has is the debut he made against HKR. It was the best I've ever seen at Trinity from a forward in 20 years which made expectations a bit OTT. He will be a goodun, I remember Peacock being on loan with Fev and he did OK but wasn't spectacular but he did kick on
