Set off at 3 - accident on 62 slowed us right down. We got there at 6.50 but managed a couple in the club. Good craic in there with the Barra lot. Good fun all round last night. Now that's a set of fans I enjoy having a pint and a natter with!

They must like you lot then last time we went Barrow we just hot ear ache from minute one about SL bid and the second the game started they were on the refs back for offside & not square off very first play.
Ok their all not that bad (surely?) but certainly were a bitter bunch when we were there!

aye - but you've just got (and always were going to get) the SL licence - so you can expect a bit of bird for that!!! You'll get some of that at our place too y'know!!
We can argue all we want about the system - and we all know Widnes should've been in from the start. But to us stuck down here in the silage with no chance of ever reaching the holy grail of SL, jealousy will always play a part, particularly when there are those amongst you who like to let us all know you'll be leavng us soon for loftier heights n'all that!!
Still, one more game at POR to go for before you depart this mire. You can then take your proddy stick and poke the wigginers forum and wind that lot up!!

Widnes used to be one of the clubs I greatly admired, and I couldn't imagine how the RFL could have formed Super League without them in 1996, but you could have said the the same about Rovers, Hull & Hull KR. Widnes went down in my estimation, however, in 2005 when they helped to get us relegated by loaning out half a team of Super League players to Doncaster, hoping they might win the Grand Final because they hadn't applied for Super League. Widnes then would have stayed up. They had no consideration then for other clubs that might suffer from their actions, and once they move up to SL I think they will try to forget where they came from and be one of the first clubs voting to close the door to future applications from the heartlands.

ah, the "I'm alright Jack" approach Steve! So obviously prevelant amongst existing SL clubs. I can't see the Widnes club or the majority of their fans being much different within a few weeks of SL if not already now they've got royal ascent to 'heaven'!
