I find the points put forward by the various posters interesting and my views are as follows-
During the many years of watching the Salford City Reds I have graduated from standing behind the sticks at the present North Stand, then it was in front of the Tea Room, to standing in what was the Popular Side Stand, now the Shed, I then moved with the family into the Family stand and finally we are now all in the Austin Trueman Stand and we have pre-booked our seats at the new stadium in the West Stand.
In my view the the best position to be at the Willows is in the Austin Trueman Stand although the best overall view is from the Family Stand,if you can miss out the odd girder but people are all different and want their own spot.
With regards to the standing position at the new Stadium, at most if not all the away grounds the Salford fans tend to congregate at a position behind the sticks.
Most away supporters at the Willows, from the well supported clubs in particular make more than enough noise from behind the sticks and the atmosphere that they create is usually excellent
And our fans should aim to re-create the noise that the shed can generate from behind the sticks at Barton.
The Castleford fans were shouting for forward passes, knock on's, offside etc all the time, if they can see them so can we.
Lets make the new stadium a big success and take the club forward.

This is an open invite to join us behind the sticks at Barton, enjoy intelligent conversation, witty knowledgeable observations, banter and of course the art of spotting forward passes ( all to do with perception, proportion and prospective)
raise your voices with us merry band of fools and shout the Reds on to victory

Isn't that usually because the home fans stand along the touchline?
Having said that, I'm not bothered where I'm stood as long as I'm stood. I'm more fussed that the originally mooted idea of using a German style safe standing section fell by the wayside. Would've been a fantastic way for the club and Salford City Council to create something groundbreaking. Hey ho.

Yes twice a day six days a week, that said at least one of the journeys is in the dark, what do you want to know ? it has four very square stands in various states of build, and they don't work weekends or bank holidays, ow yes and today the big stand had a scissor lift raised to the roof.
That do
The fans, the members, the people there.. from the day I stepped foot onto that field at the AJ Bell Stadium,I knew I would love that club for the rest of my life. "Jackson Hastings"..

aboveusonlypie... If you don't bother to go to the game when you live in the locality then you are not really a fan and therefore your views are invalid. It's simple.
