Not sure I would describe them as negative. I just think Sky entered the sport with the wrong attitude and a stated aim which was way too lofty. Can't blame the podcasts for rightly ripping the pish when they failed.

Team Sky have had a good 2011 so far, 2010 was just awful for them but that can happen was the bar is set too high.

I just love the fact we have a British professional cycling team. Long may it continue

OK, lets imagine that the grand jury verdict is that he doped. Will he confess or continue to fight it?

The Sky stated aim - wasn't it for a Brit to win the Tdf within 5 years? We'll come back to that.

It's a move which is as baffling as it is obvious.

Obvious - With the Worlds this year being the best chance Cav had of wearing the rainbow jersey just how good does the rainbow jersey being on a Brit in a Brit team?

Obvious - Sky have tried to make a point to Cav this year that they have a sprint train too - see Tour of California for details.

Most obvious - The Olympic road race. Its fair to say that the majority of the British team will be from Team Sky. With Cav training with them and riding as part of the same team this gives him a great chance of winning the Gold medal.

Obvious - Rod Ellingworth being a coach on Team Sky.

Baffling - the stated aim of winning the Tdf within 5 years goes up in smoke but......................it was a silly chuffing aim anyway!!

The Tdf - yes it is the biggest stage race in cycling but there is so much more to the sport than that. Plus - do we really have a cyclist who could fulfill that ambition right now?

Sky need to change their tactics to raising the profile of the sport within Britain. Having a guy who wins the most stages during the biggest race of the year would most definately do that. If we build a culture of road racing in the UK then in my view, the future Tdf winner will appear anyway.

Nationals this week, Cavendish confirmed as riding as well as 9 Sky riders: Geraint Thomas, Peter Kennaugh, Ian Stannard, Russell Downing, Alex Dowsett, Chris Froome, Jeremy Hunt, Ben Swift and Bradley Wiggins.

Not seen the route map but it's Northumberland so presumably some bumps to get over.

They've already backed away from that this year. There was an interview with Brailsford a while back saying they needed to adopt a different approach and that seems to be paying off, as you rightly say 2011 has been far better than 2010.

As luck would have it, with Wiggins not riding the TdF in 2012, they can build a Tour team around Cavendish for 2012 and go for the green jersey.

If that's the verdict and he knows it's correct he should come clean, no holds barred, reveal absolutely everything and take the hit. However, will he? No chance, he's in too deep I fear and he'll continue to protest his innocence.

I fancy a wee flutter on Chris Froome. Don't think Brad will be busting a gut for this.
