Aye, I saw that and it does feel like an era/cycle is coming to an end. It's the first, or at least biggest, period of plopness since I started taking a more serious interest. Still enjoying it though. Watching (or not!) on DVD a few days later takes the edge off and keeps me mild. :)

And tomorrow always holds the promise of better things, the spivvy charlatan trickster.

RW's anti-swearing pogrom is making me explore our rich language more fully - once I would have written 'lying nice bloke'.

"Warrington became the third leaders of the Super League in 48 hours, although even they must have been surprised at the ineptitude of their opposition....

..It was surely no coincidence that Rovers' most obviously hapless performers were Michael Dobson and Ben Galea, who have been key contributors to the success they have enjoyed under Morgan in five seasons in the Super League, but who have also been at the centre of much recent speculation. David Riolo, the Australian agent who represents both players, as well as Morgan and several other Rovers imports, was at the game. However, Morgan dismissed the suggestion that this was anything other than a bad day at the office...
..Yet this defeat leaves Rovers five points behind Hull, their fierce local rivals who occupy the eighth play-off position that the chairman, Neil Hudgell, reiterated in his programme notes would be the bare minimum for an acceptable season. "Anything less for me, I'm afraid, will represent failure, particularly in the context of us investing in a full salary cap," he wrote.

The idea that Rovers could challenge for the play-offs seemed laughable as they fumbled through the first half..

..But the damage to the rapport with the supporters that has been a key factor in the Robins' revival of recent years had already been done. That might be the most worrying aspect of this performance, for both Morgan and Hudgell. The Craven Park fairytale is very definitely over now.

Ouch.

When my kids are sulking/fed up, I belt out "Tomorrow" from Annie continuously until they agree to cheer up. Unorthodox parenting, but works a treat, never usually get past a couple of minutes.

Well, looks like the sun's coming out for y'all pretty soon. "You're only a day away.."

Old_Faithful_IAKW wrote:The difference is, Warrington's team was full of international stars and was clearly a lot better on paper than on the pitch, are Hull KR?

I look at Briscoe; Cockayne, Welham, Hall, Colbon; Green, Dobson; Netherton, Hodgson, Vella, Newton, Galea, Taylor.
Replacements: Wheeldon, Murrell, Lovegrove, Watts. vs Hodgson; King, Bridge, Atkins, Williams; Briers, Myler; Morley, M Monaghan, Carvell, Grix, Westwood, Harrison and see a massive gulf in class which was reflected in the scoreline.

Yet Rovers spend the full salary cap on the squad of 2011...how..?

JM has only himself to blame i am afraid, Hudge has much to answer for as he gave Morgan carte blanche and went 100% along with his train of thought , but Morgs has had the money , had the backing , had free reign to build the squad and backroom staff and has made a pigs ear of it...he is a decent guy and has had some wonderful moments that will live long in the memory but he has made some very poor decisions and i dont know wether he has the will or mindset to climb out of the hole he has dug himself...

Bang on the money again LB.

A sad but prob very accurate statement and sad as in the way it's turned out for Morgan

Is that what it is, been confusing me that. Thought it was a sense of humour pogrom.

If there is no struggle, there is no progress. Those who profess to favor freedom, and yet depreciate agitation, are men who want crops without plowing up the ground. They want rain without thunder and lightning. They want the ocean without the awful roar of its many waters. This struggle may be a moral one; or it may be a physical one; or it may be both moral and physical; but it must be a struggle.

Your point is if you have one?
Now be aware Karl this is where you try and be smart and fail and instead of admitting it you crawl back into your cave.
Look at the OT thread as an example.
