Looking at the points difference and Wire's squad, is their squad really inside the salary cap?
Even when you look at Wigan, Leeds and Saints etc, you can pick out players who'll be amongst the cheap earners but when you look at a squad with Hodgson, J Monahan, King, Briers, Morley, M Monahan, Carvell, Westwood, Anderson, Solomona etc, it makes you wonder what they may be up to.
What they are 'up to' is playing well and winning matches. Wire have never broken the salary cap and now that it is a 'live' cap they are clearly within the rules as always. Does you no credit to blame a defeat on an entirely spurious allegation.

That's the thing mate, in NL1 there was nowhere near the pressure - our biggest rival was probably Donny or York. (no disrespect to either of those clubs, love York).
Anyway you're probably right, just fed up.

Try thinking about your own recruitment. HKR are the club who signed the biggest load of Edit-RW to come out of Aus for about 20 years, and you paid a lot of money for him.

For a good while I think some of us, me included were still thinking of us as a half decent team on a bad run.
But well, we've gone past that now.
You know I don't actually think Warrington were anywhere near their best today yes they showed their quality but only in fits and starts and they made loads of errors. And thank goodness Hodgson missed a stack of goalkicks.
So we have to humbly accept we are where we deserve to be.
I still believe what I did at the start of the season which is that there are 5 teams who have a chance of winning something and then there is everyone else. I hoped that we would be the best of the rest but that team is now Catalans. Rovers not even close.
But I also believe that 'everyone else' are much of a muchness really. You get a good start to the season you get the bounce of the ball and everything looks good. You get a few injuries you get bad calls from the officials and suddenly confidence is low and all you have are your hard luck stories.
Depending on such imponderables you may finish 6th or 12th. And so it will remain unless you can make the step change upwards. It's very hard, Huddersfield have done so but only in an artificial way IMO via a generous benefactor.
Huddersfield actually are a very small club who realistically belong in the lower divisions. One man and his money have elevated them where they do not belong.
Dylan sang 'When you think you have lost everything, you find things can always get a little worse'. He was probably thinking of Hull FC 11th and then 12th.
For them and us and for the rest of 'everyone else' our world is 6-12. Currently the difference between 6 & 12 is negligible the difference between 5 & 6 is huge.
Was at the game today. As a Crusaders fan, I can't talk too much, given our performances this season. Turned up to the game expecting a real closely contested tie. Thought 1st 20mins, there was a lot of unforced errors, and both sides just simply kept each other out. Wire from then to half time, just showed some pure class to score some of the tries they did. Think some of you are being slightly harsh on your boys. Wire are a top side and take a lot of stopping. Just didn't think things worked for you today. Mr. Reliable for you guys (Dobson) didn't do much today either. You have some games now that you can certainly pick up points in. Well you should pick up points in. You can still make the top 8.
Love my Rugby League.
The game will survive in North Wales. Too much work and effort has been put in, to let it go to waste. We have an appetite for this sport and we'll make it work.
You're likely to see me in a Crusaders shirt, in a Warrington game or a Catalans game.
Some days you just to take a beating & today was just one of those days. Our normaly reliable perfomers had an off day wich made a dificult job impossible. But echoing other posts if Rovers are spending near the cap how can Wire attract top players & we cant ?, Looking at thier squad not many are products of thier youth set up. If we are not able to spend the maximum it would explain some of our players & maybe we are still stuck with a few players we would not have taken if w e had been an established super league side from the start. That said I will be back & hope Justin can turn it round after all the giants & wire did not actualy set the game on fire untill the last two seasons, our day will come( I hope).

Couldn't agree more ! Your players you can usually rely on, didn't really perform today. Thought Dobson's kicking game was nowhere near at its best. Kris Welham didn't show any signs of his breaks and prolific try scoring. Just one of those days. Wire were class at times.

sorry, I couldn't help myself
what about them? My main point is we are told that we can spend up to the cap but we dont have a team that can mix it with the top sides on a consitant & regular basis. Yes we have been able to pull off good results since our return to the top League, but as we have the same to spend as FC, Leeds, Wigan & Saints why cant we attract the same caliber of players? FC wigan Saints & leeds do have the advantage of very good junior set ups (that we are trying to get going) but they cant pay anymore than us so why dont we sign the Pat Richards or Matt Kings of the game? These are not retorical questions I realy would like to know.
