Normally more than enough for that much coveted 8th spot...but do you really think the class of 2011 have another 7 wins (out of 10!!!!) in them..???
More to the point should we really be concerned about busting a gut to achieve the probable impossibility of a poor 8th spot or should we now start planning for a more prosperous future and seeing if some of the younger members of the squad have what it takes and making some decisions , either way.., about the future of the club and is staff...the longer we procrastinate the harder we make it for ourselves..we are once gain been left behind whilst we await the arrival of JMs chum Mr Riolo...why we let an Aussie agent have so much so influence in the future of our club is beyond me...

Reminds me a little of the situation in football a few years ago when certain managers always dealt with particular agents to their mutual benefit...
And yes, blood the youngsters. We're not going to beat Warrington, very unlikely to make the eight and if we do we'll go out in the first round anyway.
If there is no struggle, there is no progress. Those who profess to favor freedom, and yet depreciate agitation, are men who want crops without plowing up the ground. They want rain without thunder and lightning. They want the ocean without the awful roar of its many waters. This struggle may be a moral one; or it may be a physical one; or it may be both moral and physical; but it must be a struggle.

It's been a pretty disastrous season from start to finish really and it ain't a good advert for renewing of season passes for next season imo

My first target/milestone would be 20 points to at least equal the work (heroics) of Goddard, Morton, Dyer, Morrison, Gannon, Tangata-Toa et al.
Unless we go on a run... hmmm. Longest SL winning streak this year is 1 game. Quins, Wildcats, Crusaders and Salford is a run of winnable games, but we'd need to win them all to even get back in realistic contention.

Chasing 8th is an exercise in saving face, and has no benefits other than 1 extra game, probably in the South of France. What's the point? The season is a write-off, so get some kids hardened up for 2012, wave goodbye to a few old faces, and start afresh in Feb next year.
Obviously a cup quarter final would normally represent an olive branch, but the draw sort of put that to sleep. I won't be putting my mortgage on us making a semi appearance this year.

JOHN THE REDBOY I have been a rovers fan all my life and my grandkids are as well
From a short term "morale" point of view its probably important that we stay in the hunt for 8th for as long as possible. Plus losses to Wakey, Quins, Crusaders and Salford aint gonna do anything to boost our crowds. Looking at the bigger picture though as i stated yesterday i would rather see 5 or 6 of our promising youngsters blooded in readiness for next season even if it meant missing out on the 8 this year. Lets be honest though, with our personel we should be able to add for instance Jordan Cox and Dave Peterson to the side and still beat the 4 teams that i mentioned. I wouldnt worry about season pass figures dropping for next year on the back of this years campaign. There will be enough changes to personel and things happening off the field to keep people interested i am sure.

The only side I can see droping out of the top 8 is Castleford & that it is not given, As long as our team tries & give us something to cheer along the way I will be happy & wait to see what next season brings. I just hope they dont die wondering.
