Dilshan. Ouchy.

Great knock by the piratical opener, but that thumb is flatter than my wife's Yorkshire puddings.

Outside chance of a result again? If we can get another 150 by 2.30 then set them 300 and see what happens...

Carry on scoring Cooky.

Great turn around!

Dropkick Murphy..we actually saw and heard a mass of bouncing and scarf and flag waving to Dale Cavese that drowned out anything we could muster.. It stopped us singing our own celebratory songs, it died out seconds later when we accepted we couldn't be heard over the Wigan lot
Celebrations muted from us, job done from them. Most fans who slag them off are jealous their own club's support is nowhere near that good
-
sally cinnamon..Why not discuss Wigan? It's a rugby league message board. Wigan are the most famous brand in rugby league
-
Tre Cool..Saints fans are hopeless unless it's a cup final or grand final. Wigan fans are so much more loyal and passionate
-
the flying biscuit..Wires havent been massively succesful over the years, but I've spoke to Brian Bevan And he spoke to me and i wouldnt swap that for Wigans History, ever
-
Ande..on the TV i could only hear the Wigan fans with about 10 to go
-
Saint94..Every team is in your feckin shadow, we all know

That's the ideal scenario. First task is to make sure we don't collapse as they did yesterday. We're in front in the series, no need to give them even an outside sniff of a win - at least 300 with fifty overs for us to take ten wickets ought to be about right.

I'd like to see Broad do something with the ball today, because I don't think he should be as high in the pecking order as he seems to be. He just doesn't seem to take enough wickets often enough. I get the feeling he's preferred to others because of his batting, yet when the number six spot was up for grabs all the noises coming from the England leadership suggested that Morgan's inability to offer a fifth bowling option was irrelevant; Bopara wouldn't be preferred simply because he can replicate Collingwood's bowling contribution.

If you're only going to pick four bowlers, with no real back-up whatsoever, it simply has to be the best four even if they're all rabbits, which Swann certainly isn't in any case, so if Anderson is fit to be recalled right now I make Broad first in line to drop out.

105 Test wickets at near as dammit 36 apiece and a strike rate of a wicket every 68 balls.

Compare that to:

Ryan Sidebottom - 79 wickets at 28 and strike rate of 60.
James Anderson - 215 wickets at 31, strike rate of 56
Tim Bresnan - 25 wickets at 28, strike rate of 69
Steve Finn - 50 wickets at 27, strike rate of 41
Chris Tremlett - 38 wickets at 26, strike rate of 53
Graham Onions - 28 wickets at 31, strike rate of 51

Statistically, Broad should be well down the England pecking order. Even Saj Mahmood has a marginally better strike rate, although his wickets have come at 38 apiece. He's lucky to be in the side, let alone part of the captaincy group.

First choice seam attack, when fit, should be Anderson, Bresnan and Tremlett. They're the ones that were successful in Sydney and Melbourne, and nobody's done enough to force their way in, in their absence.

Can see Finn eventually forcing his way in, but I think he'd be better served just being allowed to bowl for Middlesex this season, rather than being in a squad of 12 and bowling to David Saker during every lunch/tea break.

Sri Lanka collapsing again 91-6.

All the lost play may be irrelevant at this rate.
