I think I'd rather Chase of the pair, and really don't see the point in bringing them both in, unless the plan is for Ratchford to play in the Centres, which would be a disappointment as I don't think he offers more than our current crop, and that's not including a thriving academy with Evans etc knocking on the door. As others have mentioned, I view Chase as the most 'Briers-esque' of the pair and I think if he signed we'd be able to easily adapt. However it begs the question, why do we need a player in the style of Briers? Yes he's been a Warrington Hero and will be sadly missed when he leaves/packs it in, but I don't think we should label him as the ideal player, when we can bring in real top quality halfbacks and simply adapt.

I'm really not getting this Chase/Briers comparison. As far apart you can get when it comes to halfback play.
Didn't William Webb Ellis pick up the ball and run, someone should really tell Rugby Union.

I agree, Briers more of an organiser/creator, Chase more dynamic.
SAINTS THE ORIGINAL AND PERENNIAL CHEATS For sale full Saints kit (circa 1989). Shirts in pristine condition, but shorts badly soiled. For 27 - 0 you get a trophy For 75 - 0 you get sod all. Wigan had eight in a row Saints have five in a row

Compare them all you want. Chase is contracted to Cas until the end of the 2013 season, then it will be the NRL for him.

A good half back pairing then, one is a creator that looks to take on the line on a regular basis and the other an organiser with a great kicking and passing game.
In an ideal world i'd certainly take a Briers/Chase partnership ahead of anything to do with Ratchford.

He must of had a plethora of offers when he left St George, I'm surprised he came to SL, honest.

I was told some months ago that Anderson is off to Catalans, he was told by Smith to find another club.
