The "freak" results over this weekend with the Wire being taken by the Reds and Wakey beating the Giants have led some people to say that their players who doubled up were tired after the Exiles game.
From a Rhinos point of view, this is the third year on the bounce that we have not only fielded players in this mid-season test but also recorded a win in Super League the same weekend. In 2009 and 2010 we fielded depleated teams and this time we played the "international players"
For my two penn'orth why not dump the Magic Weekend and have 26 rounds of Super League and keep a free weekend for this Exiles game? and maybe, just for those who like a weekend away - play it in Cardiff!
Your thoughts please!
They shall not grow old, as we that are left grow old. Age shall not weary them nor the years condemn, at the going down of the sun and in the morning – WE WILL REMEMBER THEM
Have you been to a Magic Weekend? I have an certainly would not want it dropping. It's an excellent concept and one, which I'd guess, has a lot more backing from the fans than an Exiles match.

I was there too in Cardiff and I loved it. I think the idea of taking a city over with league is great. I feel that we could continue to develop the magic weekend and it should become something for all fans to look forward to.
I really like the exiles concept too. It is good to have a really competative game for the international team to play. We certainly need to do something to try and catch up with the southern teams. The only way to improve this idea would be to construct a week off somehow.

Harlequins and the Skolars?
The Exiles game (if it is repeated) perhaps should be played on a Wednesday, preceded by a Friday/Saturday programme and followed by a full Sunday one.

Controversial I know but... why not have it Challenge Cup Final Weekend, exclude any players from the two final teams, and hold it at the Stoop (or even Wembley long term!).

Because if it was Wigan v Saints in the Challenge Cup that would be a third of the Exiles squad (as it was last Friday) unavailable. Which kind of defeats the object of the game

Yeah I see what you mean. It's makes the Exiles a kind of 'second best' selection.

Exiles squad is only "allowed" a maximum of 3 from each squad anyway. So that would only ever be a maximum of 6 players missing.
You never know... it might mean that England have more of a chance.

How many fans back this Magic Weekend concept by actually going to it?
Quote:Every player in our squad could probably earn more money with another club. But they prefer to sacrifice a few extra quid in their back pocket to share special memories. And playing at a place like Old Trafford on a night like this makes it all worthwhile.
