Not a lot we can do about it if he goes home, we will just have to replace him and get on with it.

i havent read the full thread, but although it would be a loss to your team(as well as superleague), i wonder what effect being deregistered for mason had on him.you couldnt blame him if it pushed his nose out a bit,as most people (if their honest) would admit to feeling a little underwhelmed/unwanted by it if they suffered a similar fate, regardless of what was publically said by all affected parties in the papers. nobody but dobbo knows what he will do,but if he leaves,a player of his quality would be hard for you to replace. the report in some of todays papers stating that some returning oz players have been voted the seasons worst recruitments in the nrl this season may swing another season for you

Being deregistered won't be a factor as the club told him it was until he was ready to play again and that's what happened

aye,i know what was said and what happened, but only dobbo knows if it peed him off,as he would never admit it publically and break the clubs official line.and would he have been resigned if you had been playing well and mason been a massive hit and not talked to toulouse and didnt get his permit. he may well be okay with it all and sign for a few more years. i cant pretend i know his mind, but i know it would have hit a raw nerve with me if i was a loyal player and was deregistered when i was injured just to make way for another player(especially a newcomer to the ranks). if he stays its good for you and superleague, if he goes back he gets to test himself against the best. without your red n white glasses on,what would you do?

I would assume that Dobbo, like all players at all clubs will do what is BEST for their own careers and bank balances. The test of loyalty is not one that is relevant in the modern game, barring one or two exceptions.

It is the problem all clubs that sign overseas players have, they come here to get the break that gets them the experiance then they go home to play in the NRL where they wanted to be in the first place. If he goes he has my best wishes as he has given Rovers & Super league good value, (I want him to stay though). We will face the dilema of most UK sides as there are not many outstanding young half backs around so we will have to just keep looking.
