If not, then the fault should still be lying at the same door, the players, even though anybody with half a brain cell can see that at least Burgess and Clarkson should be in the 17.
We didn't manage to squeeze a win out of them last season, and we slipped up big style this season away at KR. So for me, grab any kind of win would do.
But I agree, Biff and Clarkson should be in the 17, at the biggest stretch the regular 19 dependant on form etc.
I can see why Cross hasn't figured of late with our ideal props playing (apart from Biff) but with this tight turn-around of games he should be in this weeks squad. Cross is a big lad with a decent engine so IMO Mac should have been priming him for a return in this fixture to get him going for it, unleash the beast etc. Because if he could control himself and exert his agression in the right format he could do some damage.

I'm not Cross' biggest fan at all, but he should be in this squad. For the reasons you have mentioned. if Cross could direct his aggression the right way, he could do a job.
A reprive for Biff, he should feel soooo lucky!
Got to agree. Just proves you can show some rugby acumen if you want to! Eh Pancho!

You got me there
However you will have noted rhinoms that I have only defended what I felt was unfair. I have not and will not defended his illogical team selections, illiterate media comment and terrible bodly language.

Cross has the best m per carry and highest marker tackles of all our props and no worse errors or penalties. His game time has been short and his work rate high. Sure he is not the best but neither are any of our other props and he certainly is better than Kirke of Kylie at present.

I know mate i was the same earlier in the season but he just can't seem to get the team going imo and for that he's as much to blame as the 17 who are playing pants on the field. Anyhow maybe we can have reasonable performance and decent result this weekend.

Nice to see you throwing a few stats in. Very refreshing. Good work.

Can we still change any of the 19 selected if say on the day the players declare themselves unfit to play? I know the 19 man squad rule was brought in to stop this. But Bluey used to get away with it . If JP,JJB and KS drop out then Cross and Clarkson might just get a game. I can`t see KL playing two games in 3 days either.

My 'acumen' has never been questioned, unlike certain others?
Cross is still technically awful though, just so we're clear. I've just started feeling sorry for him.
Lets not forget these are props we are talklng about. We are not looking for some a seminar of the theory of being a RL prop. We need urgent action with big effort and a good go forward. Cross provides this - ok with some rough edges that frankly we could have done with over the past couple of weeks. He has made the most marker tackles per game (4.7) of any Leeds player with only Peacock coming close. (Kirke 2.57 and Kylie 2.25) This is important because it has been an area of weakness for us when compared to other sides (we are 12th out of 14) It also shows he was 1st or 2nd into the tackle and was up and ready to defend.
I suppose with your "acumen" and fairness you would say that with the exceptions of Cross, JP, JJB & Buderus the rest of the Leeds forwards are "technically bloody awful" ......Right Kemo Sabi?
