Yeah Laithwaite won two man of the match awards for England u18s last season whilst 16 year old ex-Wigan scholarship player Ben Currie looks an absolute star at u20s this season and has already played for England u18s this season.
I won't even mention Ben Evans, who was the stand-out forward over the two matches against Australia for England u18s last season despite being still available at that age group this season, as he has been injured all this year.

We've got a bit of a similar potential scenario at Wigan this year, though possibly not to the extreme. We may be losing Deacon, Carmont, Coley all to retirement, as well as Gleeson (gone) and potentially Hoffman (NRL), that's a lot of experience to be ripped out of the team at once.
weve got plenty of talent just coming in or are still very young rhys evans, ben evans, riley, cooper, obrien, blythe, myler, williams, ben harrison (not to sure) more will come when we need to replace quality with quality

Well Waterhouse is better than Tony Puletua so looks like we did better by missing out on Puletua if this comes off. Puletua would have been a decent signing but Waterhouse will be a quality addition.
I can see Waterhouse being very popular with our fans in the next couple of years, he ticks all the boxes for the things fans respect.
