Seventies red wrote:Yes! i and several thousand other Kr fans have done so, on several occasions at that rat infested hole you used to call the Boulevard, the terracing where the Hull Kr fans used to stand was no better than the current south stand at Craven park, its also worth mentioning that rugby was a winter sport then so there were many times when we would have to stand in freezing cold conditions including hail and even snow, did it stop us going though?, no it didnt because we were real supporters who wernt afraid of 80 minutes of a little discomfort especialy if we thought out team were going to win on the day.
With the above in mind i have to ask myself, are some of you new breed :DAISY: of Hull fc fans real men and women or mice?, judging by some of your excuses i would probably suggest the latter, so much for the in any kind of weather song you still sing, you should change the lyrics to, in any kind of sunny weather and only if there's a nice cosy seat, preferably with a nice soft cushion for me to sit on.

Bang on chief.
I actually quite like going when it's bad weather, I find it rather bonding. Bradford a couple of years ago, Leeds about three years ago when it snowed.

If there is no struggle, there is no progress. Those who profess to favor freedom, and yet depreciate agitation, are men who want crops without plowing up the ground. They want rain without thunder and lightning. They want the ocean without the awful roar of its many waters. This struggle may be a moral one; or it may be a physical one; or it may be both moral and physical; but it must be a struggle.

Doublespeak, it's the new form of attack\defence and I think seventies red has done it quite well.
Very predictably hooked in "I'll bite at everything", come on you 'ull.

Me too. I don't mind standing. Or bad weather. Just Craven Park.

The south end at Craven Park leaves a lot to be desired we all know this. Rovers know this too and are trying very hard to make ground improvements which would put this right. That's all there is to it for now, we all hope not for much longer.

Hull fans are entitled to stay away if they wish. If Rovers could 'magic' up a solution I'm sure they would I'm sure they'd like Hull to match the 6,500 Rovers take to the KC. At £20 a ticket that's worth £130k.

If I were a Hull fan I reckon I might stay away too if the game was televised but I wouldn't miss the game otherwise. Let's be honest any Hull fan that is keen enough could easily have got a ticket for the well or North Stand.

As for the Gordon St end at The Boulevard it was awful easily as far away from the pitch as Rovers south stand. But back then people didn't worry as much about faciities. The threepenny stand would not come near to meeting H & S requirements and there were only a few hundred seats nothing like as many as (Old) Craven Park.

For me Craven Park (old) was a far better ground but The Boulevard did have a bigger capacity which is why it got the odd minor international game.

Neither ground would have met current SL standards I dare say.

I couldn't hear the robin sing if not for you.

Yeah, Andy Lynch (a prop!) scored straight from a kick off, iirc, ffs.

Didn't understand a word of that, love.

I bet the people in charge of the KC, The DW, The Stobart, Headingley (With a new Carnege stand) must have been gutted......................Oh wait.
Comparing apples and oranges sunshine.

You know perfectly well what I meant, sunshine. The Boulevard was selected as an international ground over New Craven Park as it was a better ground.
