Nobody takes that rule seriously - and to be frank, nor should they. Tbf to players, it ought to be May or June or even earlier. They should be allowed to test the market - and realistically they are. It's a useful charade to stop damaging stories and disruption. Informal discussions will be underway - discreetly.
