As well as Jamie "Bloody" Sandie, from "The Game Which Should Never Be Mentioned", my other memory of that game was a Rovers family sat in front of my family. The grandma with them was resplendent in home made red trousers for the occasion. Unfortunately, said trousers were not very securely fastened and every time something exciting happened and she jumped up, they fell down revealing a pristine pair of white airtex knickers. I think she also lost her teeth when Joe Cool missed at the end.
Mmmm, airtex knickers and no teeth, sounds like a web site I know, but thats maybe for the chat thread!
If there is no struggle, there is no progress. Those who profess to favor freedom, and yet depreciate agitation, are men who want crops without plowing up the ground. They want rain without thunder and lightning. They want the ocean without the awful roar of its many waters. This struggle may be a moral one; or it may be a physical one; or it may be both moral and physical; but it must be a struggle.

I did!
Think we are capable of getting a result, especially if we carry on our steady improvemnt, however, as other people have said nine weeks time and it could be two totally different teams contesting the tie, both in personel and form.

Thick fog on the motorway coming back you could hardly see in front of yourself.
Thought it was 1986 though when we got to Wembley and lost to Cas. If it was 1985 I'm trying to remember who knocked us out that year but can't recall.
That 8-3 Saints/Hull KR Challenge Cup tie was definitly 1985 rather than 1986 as Mal Meninga was playing for us that night and his only season at St Helens was the 1984/85 one.
