It's evidently much better for us overall if they stay up.
I thought this was bound to be obviously the case before IL ever mentioned it. The thing is though while they have survived this time will they continue to do so? I think it's inevitable they will get relegated sooner or later so Wigan RL and IL will have to deal with the consequences at some point.

At least we don't have a dedicated page of threads, as they have on Cockney Liar. i.e. The Non-Football related page (in other words all Wigan RLFC hating stuff here).

people didn't want to go watch latics when they were playing the likes of mansfield town. now they are in the top flight, playing some of the greatest teams in the world, and people attend matches? shocking! that is a completely reasonable attitude to have and i have no idea why anyone would care.

pretty hilarious stuff given the 'f the latics' line which gets sang week in week out.

...but I doubt it.
Of course it is. Look when he/she joined and it was their first post. It's quite obviously a Latics fan but does it really matter?

That was kind of my point, hence why I said being selective wasn't a great tactic.

It wouldn't bother me at all. I'm not going to get upset because someone I have no control over decides to change which team they "support". If they're like that they'll probably be "supporting" someone else next season.

So they're there to watch United, Liverpool, Everton etc. rather than support Latics? Are you sure?

Reet were getting somewhere here, now next year we are absolute pants, bottom of the table, the very same bloke YOU KNOW has now changed back to a Stains mon and is giving you pelters every time he see's you...what would you think of such a cretin? X that by a few thousand and you have the makeup/profile of the majority of tics fan base.
When Maurice sold me to Leeds something changed, it just not the same, the passion inside me just wasn’t the same as running out at Central park for my hometown club. We need a change of culture here; we don’t want to be just happy with playing ok on Saturday at St Helens. Ill make sure that from now on things will change, that players will be under pressure and will train a lot harder than they have before. Shaun Wane 8/10/09
