It is more the bitter garbage he has been giving to the press lately than anything else. I would never begrudge a player going to another sport and making a success of it. But repeatedly attacking the game that made him (and that is what it is, he has natural athletic attributes but his awareness comes from rugby league coaching as the even the union coaches admit ) in the press is unnecessary. Especially, as he knows, rugby league has a hard time with the press in England as it is. He therefore becomes source for criticism, and fully justified criticism at that.

What he said......
Hopefully him and his career will hit a downward spiral from here-on in.
Horrible, horrible person that showed zero respect to the Wigan club, Wigan team mates and Wigan fans....go boil yer big fat yed!!
When Maurice sold me to Leeds something changed, it just not the same, the passion inside me just wasn’t the same as running out at Central park for my hometown club. We need a change of culture here; we don’t want to be just happy with playing ok on Saturday at St Helens. Ill make sure that from now on things will change, that players will be under pressure and will train a lot harder than they have before. Shaun Wane 8/10/09

Dan Sarginson: "This is a fantastic opportunity for me to join the biggest name in the competition" 18/10/2013
Tony Clubb: "This is a new exciting chapter of my life signing for Wigan and I couldn't be happier" 18/10/2013
Romain Navarrete: “I’m very happy to have signed for Wigan Warriors. As soon I knew that Wigan were interested, they were the only team that I wanted to sign for. To me, Wigan is the biggest Club in Rugby League and it will be an honour to pull on the famous Cherry-and-White jersey next year. I look forward to working with Shaun Wane and the players at Wigan.”
