Hello, hope i'm ok doing this ?? , i'm looking to purchase a new phone soon, i can't decide between a Samsung Galaxy S2, or a i phone 4 .
Was also considering switching to 3 network as they have some fantastic deals on at the moment , i understand their reputation was rather poor , however i now hear they are pretty good, any advice appreciated

I-phone 4 is the best imo...I left 3 and am now with Vodaphone as they gave me a better deal, I suppose it depends on which deal suits your personal requirements.

Not my field this but if you find your way onto the "Sin Bin" board above, there's a dedicated thread on there with a lot of knowledgeable people with both good and bad experiences of 'phones and networks who'll be able to give you lots of advice.
Edit; You've found it already!
If there is no struggle, there is no progress. Those who profess to favor freedom, and yet depreciate agitation, are men who want crops without plowing up the ground. They want rain without thunder and lightning. They want the ocean without the awful roar of its many waters. This struggle may be a moral one; or it may be a physical one; or it may be both moral and physical; but it must be a struggle.

Depends where you live with 3, it is poor reception in some of the villages (South Cave), also it I would often lose my signal in Beverley, not sure why. I have not had any problems since moving to vodaphone though.
HTC Desire HD is the best phone on the market, bar none. If you're looking for chavtasticness then iPhone is for you. Samsung Galaxy 2, if its anything like the first stay well clear.

The iPhone 5 is out soon and would be well worth hanging on for instead of going for the version 4.
I still have the 3g version and I find the lastest update has slowed the phone down to what I believe an unacceptable level however the only reason for this I can fathom is so that I am interested in upgrading to a more powerful model.
Having said this I wouldn't move away from an iPhone and although the Windows phones and Blackberry's are very good pieces of equipment the iPhone in my experience has had few problems and always does what you want from a phone.
As for which network, would never go with 3 again but then the last time I was with them was over 10yrs ago! I think T-Mobile have linked up with Orange and use the same satalites so you should get good coverage with them or as said Vodafone are the largest mobile phone network in the world and you should rarely lose coverage. I am with O2 but their new customer deals are not brilliant but coverage wise I am relatively happy with.
Ive got a galaxy S and am very happy with it, contract was half the price of the iphone which imo a really overpriced by apple. Tried the desire hd out but didnt get on with it. Suppose its horses for courses. As for networks i'm on vodafone and the only time i have a prob is on 3g at half time at cp when everyone seems to be checking scores on the net

The Mrs has a galaxy s, its very laggy, turns itself off and is very unresponsive. However, many people have said how great it is so it maybe a software glitch. I must say though, I haven't seen a better screen yet, picture quality is top notch.

I've got the Samsung Galaxy. and it's the dogs dagglies. Internet speed is far better on the galaxy then on ANY IPhone picture quality is great and so easy to use.
