Hard to disagree. Briscoe has been a great ambassador for this club but Cockayne is a better all round athlete in terms of speed and strength and now I think he realises this is a golden chance for him to keep the shirt even when Briscoe is fit and this time I don't think he's going to let that opportunity pass.
His kick returns are superb and help get the team on the front foot at the start of sets which our forwards can then capitalise on which is a key area where I feel Briscoe isn't consistent enough.
It's ironic that the things us Rovers fans used to say to the FC fans regarding the Cockayne vs Briscoe debate back in our first SL season in 2007 are actually now coming to the fore...
I can see Cockayne getting the number one shirt next year with Louis Sheriff as back-up if Cockayne's form doesn't drop.
