He looks in good shape, it's certainly not his conditioning that is a problem, he looked very athletic and lean. But tonight he just seemed to be going through the motions, which I found surprising as both Graham and Perry were making an extra effort to go after him when he got the ball. The Mason of old would have responded to that.
You've got to feel for him. O'Meley told him he was coming to join him at Hull in the best SL stadium, with solid structure and finances behind him. He sent him the glossy photos to prove it and everything - he missed his mucker, you see. He didn't even tell Willie that his new club's name was Rovers, not Hull. In fact, he lead him to believe there was only one club in Hull, the naughty boy.
Poor Mason's still getting over the shock of Caravan Park and it's associated baggage. He'll be right eventually.

Aye - the famous Hull Kingston Rovers' name will be known over there. It's just that the shiny photos and assurances used to lure him didn't specify a name....
Willie is now familiar with that irritating ditty: An ass out of u and me.

Surely he'd know HKR weren't the same Hull based rugby team that failed to get him to sign for them a couple of seasons ago!

Hull is Hull is Hull, as far as the Aussies are concerned - you only have to look at how many times their media make the same mistakes with regards to our club(s)
