But Leeds with their sh!thouse tactics, meddling chairman and kn0bhead fans are making it very difficult at the moment.

I've gone over to the dark side and actually prefer Sts to Leeds or Wire.

Whatever happened to Billy McGinty's pineapple?

"I'm done. Brown out. If LMS, Turner or Walker get in any match day squad i will not be attending from now on in." LFC Saint

It just could be that our chairman has a better relationship with McManus, but Saints seemed to handle our title win with considerably more dignity than Leeds did.

Peacock, Bluey and Hetherington all showed significant weaknesses of character either at the end of last season or in the time since, and as Phibes said, the new wave of Leeds trolls who've appeared since their team fell from grace are real amateurs.

Perhaps Bailey could tell Lima a few jokes about the Christchurch earthquake (that sort of thing clearly seems to tickle him)...right before he runs off and hides behind Peacock as usual.

eeerm no. Dummy spitting a la FGB, and the big girl's blouse petulance displayed by Tomkins Brats are not the sort of qualities we want in God's County.

We much prefer the honest graft of a Jamie Peacock this side of the Pennines. :D

Bilko wrote:I'm confident because Leeds defence has generally been dire this season. I know Wakefield only got six yesterday but it sounded on the radio like better sides would have had Leeds beat in the first half. If we defend strongly, I'm not convinced this current Leeds side could match us in that department (they average 10 points more conceded per game).

I think thats a fair summary however the radio commentary didnt really reflect our defensive effort at BV in the first half bearing in mind the penalty count and the fact we played the last 10 mins with 12 men. Ithink at several stages they had 4 consecutive sets of 6 from drop outs but still failed to score.

Yes our discipline and handling were dire in the first half and against a better side and you fit that description atm I think the half time deficit would have been too great to surmount.

As it was I think we nilled them in the second half and our vastly superior fitness levels and improved skill levels and discipline saw us ease away relatively comfortably.

Bear in mind also our injuries and our transitional issues both in the current playing staff available and the changes in coaches and game plan.

It should be a good game this week but yes I think you are right to be confident.

The build up to last weeks game was far more civilised than this both on this board and ours. Come on boys, you've still got another 4 days to go.
