I'd guess that the "high quality" assurances will have come from the Tongan authorities, so there shouldn't be a problem. Interesting to have confirmation that the situation is pretty much as discussed over the last week or so on here though.

We'd simply have to get rid of a quota player completely or wait till the end of the season when Galea retires. Don't think it's an unholy mess just extra clarification on what we already new. If anything it calms my nerves regards initially thinking we'd lose Dobson. Looking on it's worked well for Rovers as we can now get Mason up to speed for when Dobson returns.

Indeed, Hudge confirmed in his interview on Sunday that written confirmation had been received from the Tongan authorities...

"Hull KR have been told that if Mason's passport does not arrive then they will not be allowed to re-register Dobson," the spokesman said.

"Neither can they de-register Mason, or any other player, to put Dobson back onto the quota. They understand that.

"The only other option for the cub then would be to cancel the contract of another of their current overseas quota players."

Sounds to me very much that if Masons passport doesn't come (and i'm sure it will), the only option would be to release Dobson. Clinton will cost a fortune to pay off and i don't think Dobson can wait until the end of December to receive any money, while he waits for Galea to retire.



Wouldn't expect you to say anything else being as you constantly portray your un dying love for everything red and white. The unblinkered view is one of chaos, special favours and special treatment that has not been bestowed to, nor sought by, any other SL club.

I was quite critical of what Rovers had done with regards to Dobson both on here and on the unoffical forum. I'm simply commenting on a story that has being aired today and puts some clarification on the whole events. Doesn't make what Rovers have done anymore right. It's wrong and I hate the amount of overseas players we have at Rovers. But whilst they are at the club and pulling on a Rovers shirt all 50 of them will get my support.
