Many people bemoan Humberside's coverage of our club (as do Hull fans as well), but you would sure miss them if they went completely, particularly now that KCFM have backed out of live coverage.

Both clubs ultimately need the local media, so they should learn to take the rough with the smooth.

We need local radio badly I could not believe when i twizzled my nob trying to find kcfm only to find it did not exist. The commentary team for Rovers at kcfm were fantastic the passion out of this world. Radio Humberside is okay but it seems to me that most lean towards FC. They are forever slagging Rovers off, with snide remarks, and most seemed disapointed when Rovers won in cardiff. Even Pinkney was all for Cas the other week.

That image will haunt alot of people on here, for a long time!

It would be a disaster for local sport coverage if we had to rely on Radio Five Live instead of Radio Humberside, Five Live is very biased towards Premiership Football, which is fine if you have a local station to cover the Rugby, but I can't see Five Live giving the in depth coverage of Rovers and Hull that we currently enjoy.

Whatever their faults, I do appreciate being able to get commentaries over the internet and would really miss it if they went.

Five Live cover's almost exclusively Premiership football so any other sport and none Premiership football clubs will be left blowing in the wind.
I seriously can't belive the BBC are even considering this.

I get the feeling that the BBC are being deliberately controversial with their ideas for cuts. Maybe an attempt to drive home how much cash they've lost and highlight all the low profile but important stuff they do?

I hope to god that's right.
