There are hardly any headlines about him these days largely beacuse he is a spent force over there. Players like Inglis, Folau, Smith etc etc get much more in terms of column inches. The media fascination over here is due to one thing, the Fielden punch. They are hoping it will kick off every game, although Mason will be hoping it does not happen with Peacock I bet.
I must have imagined his name being linked to the betting scandal just to give it a nice edge then.
I must have imagined an almost weekly update of his visa-athon even though he was technically no longer in the NRL.
You mention the press scrum over here but yet you see fit to discount it because it doesn't fit your arguement...Convenient that isn't it.
Also did you know that tons and I mean TONS of local rags from all over the country were interested enough to put the press association release on their websites?
He isn't high profile though apparently.
